exchanged old UK Licence
Going back to the UK next year, and will need to change my French licence back to the UK. It's over 30 years since the exchange and my licence was the old type with no photos etc. Being over 70 may also complicate the issue. Has anyone had a similar situation?

Re: exchanged old UK Licence
If you passed your test in UK then you should have no problem.
To check in advance you can call DVLA and ask them to send you a 'Letter of Entitlement' which will show what they have on record for you.
Although this link relates to Zambia the procedure is exactly the same.
Note the online check does not work if you do not hold a current UK licence.

You just need to pick up Form D1 from the Post Office when you return. There’s a box to enter your UK driving licence number. You can ring the DVLA to find this out. Providing that box is completed then you’ll have all your correct entitlements on your new UK licence when it arrives in the post.
