Have you ever tried to contact the EU about anything? I did here when the local town was organising a European Day for the 50 anniversary of the opening of the EU Parliament. It was ridiculous but the local (French) EU MPs never responded to my emails or phone calls. Eventually it was the British EU MP who did reply. I really felt at that point quite how distanced the representatives were from the 'people' ie me. Actually it has made me quite cynical about the system. But it is an important funding game that everybody must know how to play who wants the payout the EU offer.

No, that link is really useful Val. You know me better than to think I was being rude (don't you ). It's just that the experience I had really made me realise how distanced the EU system is from individuals that's all. Much made of the accessibility of the whole thing but it takes such knowledge to get there and is thus the land of 'those who know how to to do it'.
