drought regulations
Can anyone point me to a clear, simple explanation of the water use regulations during the present drought? I've found a map that assigns 'vigilance', 2 or 3 to each department, and a list that breaks up departments into zones (without showing where the zones are), but no list of actual regulations.
Thanks David |

Re: drought regulations
I believe the Préfecture instructs the Communes. We get notices posted up by the Mairie when pool-filling, car-washing and garden watering (from the mains) are prohibited "in accordance with Prefectoral Decision No. ...".
Your Mairie will be able to give you details for your particular Commune, but whatever the regulations are, reduction of water consumption at any time is good for the planet (and the pocket)!;) |
Re: drought regulations
I'm in 01 and I've started seeing posters going up saying that water restrictions are in place. Though as above it's different from commune to commune, we're OK in my village at the moment but 10 km along the Jura there's hosepipe bans etc in place.
Departements affected http://www.service-public.fr/actualites/00552.html Instructions for my departement http://www.voixdelain.fr/blog/2011/0...d%E2%80%99eau/ which are; No car washing No filling up of pools No watering of gardens between 8am to 8pm refilling of ponds For farmers there are restrictions on taking surface and aquifer water |
