Disappearing posts!

I've posted 3 replies so far, and only 1 has appeared.

For the other two (both helpful and polite), I get a message saying that they have to be moderated before they can be posted. Meanwhile, other posts appear from other people, and mine still don't. :-(

Have I set something up wrong?

Did you put a link to a website in your reply?...that would go to Admin approval as you are a new poster.

Well, I clearly said something wrong a couple of days ago re grass cutting in France, and although my post briefly appeared, with a response, both were then removed. I did, however, receive a couple of abusive emails in the meantime. Trouble is, most people don't like the truth. These forums seem to only want to allow anything nice, but true and honest opinions don't seem to be particularly welcome!

No, no links to websites.

Okay, thank you for your replies anyway. :)

Re: Disappearing posts!

In order to deter spammers if a new member posts a link or url in their first few posts it is automatically placed into a mod queue for us to check. You'd be suprised how many spammers we get each day, and this way it helps us keep the forum as clear as we can from spam. Your post here had a link in it so it was probably sent to the queue. Depending on time zones, and amount of mods on line, there can sometime be a delay before we can get to the posts to approve them.

Oops, sorry, I thought the first reply meant a link to MY website, so I might be advertising my own services. :o

Hi
My wife and I are both new to the forum.
My wife replied to someone asking for help, she replied and added her PM address. Her response was "kicked off" so I replied on her behalf suggesting that the OP checked our profile for our website details to gain more info.
Bear in mind the OP was looking for some help and no reference to our websites were included in the body of our replies. We cannot email the OP directly because we haven,t placed > 3 posts. Needless to say my response was removed and so was a subsequent from my wife that also referred to her profile.

Please Sue, tell us how are we supposed to help someone who wants info. that we can supply.? :fingerscrossed:

Confused but nevertheless best regards

NB We agree the world should purged of scammers !!

Basically members are not allowed to use forum posts to tout for business or to promote their business ventures. (See rule 9.) After you have been a member a little while you will be able to utilise your forum signature and the private message system.
