Re: Dell power cable
I have no idea but I had a recent experience when I set off without my power cable which might or might not be of use to you. Basically I couldn't find a Dell cable so I bought one of these multi function power supplies with adaptors to fit virtually any pc. However every time I used it I got a warning saying that the power source wasn't recognised. This worried me at first but it turned out it was nothing to worry about really. The pc would not allow the power cable to charge the battery, so the battery expired, but it did allow it power the pc so I could keep using it as long as it was plugged in.

I'm not sure either about what's available at CDG airport, but as mentioned by ET I'd be surprised if there was not an electronics assy store there selling multi- function power supplies with adaptors to fit. This is your bet best and there's probably a branch of FNAC there who sell these. Remember though that you'll pay a premium for anything bought at an airport store, even in duty-free you'll usually pay more than the same article downdown.
I remember whilst working airside at CDG, I used to spend hours browsing the duty-free stores, and frequently I'd jot down the price of something that interested me, then later check the same article downtown, where they were always cheaper.
I regularly recall Japanese tourists over 30 years ago paying 500 francs for a single bottle of Bordeaux with a fancy chateau name and labeled grand-cru. I knew that the very same wine, same year could be purchased in a good wine store in Paris for a third of the price, one of the many so-called 'amazing' duty-free rip-offs of the century. And the very same applied to high-end watches too, as in a specialist store downdown, nobody in their right mind would pay list price, as anything up to 30% could frequently be negotiated - with the exeption of one particular brand.

Re: Dell power cable
Thanks for all the advice.
just to close this one down... there are no decent electronics retailers outside of airside 2E & 2F. If you haven’t got a boarding card to get airside 2E/2F (e.g., 2G like me), then you’re basically snookered, as all other landslide stores only sell very basic phone chargers etc.
There is a retail shopping centre about 35 mins bus journey, which does sell laptop accessories; however finding something open outside of CDG on 11/11 is a tough call.
beat regards
