Re: Coronavirus - France movement restrictions
Although the stats show that the majority of those affected are over 65, there have been a number of much younger members of the public affected too.
Just heard on the news that a 16 year old very healthy French girl had light symptoms/slight cough last week. Went to her GP who sent her to the nearest hospital. 2 tests were negative. By Sunday her condition had worsened and another hospital did another test, which showed positive! She then died from what they are describing as a 'pneumonie tsunamie'. Truly terrible!

On March 3rd Johnson was quoted at a hospital with virus patients as saying that the public should decide whether to continue shaking hands, but that the science suggested washing hands regularly was more important and that he would continue shaking hands. Indeed the photo showed him shaking hands with hospital staff. I only hope the clown didn't infect anyone else, though ironically Hancock, the health secretary, has also got it.

Just in case some of you don't watch the French JT, Prés. Macron has announced that the confinement, which will remain strict, is extended to 11th May, so it's 4 down, 4 to go. And for the "old and vulnerable", maybe a bit longer....

I thought it was a good speech. Very honest, admitted there are still a lot of unknowns and it's not over yet, but inspired confidence.

A point about the "unknowns". Are these "known" unknowns or "unknown" unknowns ? ( Was it Rumsfeld ? or Chaney ?, all a bit of fog in the past)

I was surprised to find Rumsfeld's quote has its own Wikipedia page: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/There_are_known_knowns
We were stopped in town by the police today for a routine attestation check. Second check we have encountered since the lock down started. The police are polite but still an unsettling experience.

Didn't actually see this speech but have seen the previous, and yes he appears to be someone who has a government who are up to the task.
