Default Connection Charges

Hi All
When it says Elec, gas, water, drains connections etc all nearby, what does it mean and what is the connection charge based on, is it the distance they have to travel to your building?

Is there any work you can do yourself to minimise the cost

Thanks
Dave

NO the waterboard which is the syndicate de eau will charge you anywhere from 1200 euro plus this was the quote we got and the meter was right next to the pipe in the road beyond the meter is for you to sort. Elec is the responsibility of the marie and they pay all the cost this is a new law. its changed from them sorting tarmac to you now you pay for the tarmac and they pay the Elec and if you try to go to the edf direct they will send you packing. cant comment on the gas but it will cost a fare bit and the same goes for drains if this is in a location that has mains drainage. only towns etc as property in the countryside deals with its own drainage. if you have land 4000 sm plus your ok if not then you have to seek an agreement that is put on the deeds with a direct landowner around you.

If you need any further advice dont hesitate to ask

Thanks for that, We are looking at moving over when circumstances dictate, But we want to start looking this year.
We want somewhere in the country where we can have horses and other animals. So the more rural the better, that is why we are looking at Limousin region. All we want is a property that needs work on that we can do over time. Hence why I am asking all the questions, we are hoping to get over late summer for the 1st time

Any advice would be received gratefully
Dave
