Le Chant came up with a good one at the meet up the other week - but can't remember what it was:eek:
Cloud, storm, something like that - must have been the red wine:rofl:

Re: collective expats

Might depend where in France and how many there are. In Eymet for example, they would probably be:

A plague of expats (as in locusts)

A more generic term could be a "houdini" of expats

Or even the rather boring "escapism" of expats

I know what the collective noun for people like me are, who flipping well came back here:

An "idiot" of ex ex pats

It was a Cloud of Brits, the thinking being that it always rains at britexpat meetups. But he was sooo wrong.

Hi all. This is one of those rare online moments for me at the mo. Everything is peachy in Isigny ... MIL/FIL arrived from UK a week ago and my SIL:BIL arrived for breakfast off the Cherbourg ferry this morning.

We`re almost exactly half way through our stay here and the house is taking shape (slowly, thanks to far too many bottles of Chateau Val de Carentan Grand Cru).

I'll be back on here with a vengence in a few weeks when I go to Germany, but until then take care all.

Novo

Well Stanage, I'm looking for a moderator on a site where I'm Chief Modmin. You need to be available online nearly everyday, get to know how the forum board works, know rules and regulations, welcome new members, sort out disputes and read every post submitted. No pay sorry, but as you say; a good part time job :D Interested?

Now now please do-not tease.

Re: collective expats

Sorry Stanage, was not meaning to tease, more to highlight that a moderator's job is not for the faint-hearted! (I genuinely am looking for a mod, but it's a small site dedicated to photoshopping, and some experience and knowledge of this would be required.)

I shall go back to lurking under a small stone :D

An apology of expats.

Jazzy n Lol Jul 31st 2008 10:07 pm

Re: collective expats

Or maybe from the French point of view:-

An explosion of expats...

Re: collective expats

Hey Jazz, I'd volunteer to be one of your mods, I'm on-line every day all day except Saturday morning, but obviously will be in a position soon where I won't have access to a computer for a couple of weeks whilst moving over to France, then, once there, will be back on-line all day every day again!

If you are still looking once I'm settled out there, I'll be happy to be "interviewed", and promise faithfully:

No smart remarks
No sassy attitude
No taking the p**s
No leud jokes
No winding up the stuffed shirt brigade

I can be a good girl, it's just not so much fun!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

B-b-but those are requirements! Seriously, thanks Andy :D If we are still stuck I'll let you know, the more the merrier I say. It is a photoshopping forum though, and if you haven't done any you will find it intolerably boring...
