Did your wife allow the other driver to tick the box on her side only, as I said that is an admission of fault.

Without some clear evidence or admission most French drivers probably wouldn't make a claim for a mirror.

Not sure, it definately went down as 50/50, our insurance company told us. But because she got the work done through insurance, we had to.

I'll check her paperwork later, if she stil has it.

PS, She did have the English translation with her.

I looked a the English form, which box are we talking about?

Not so long ago an old bloke hit my Oh's car whilst she was in a parking space. He saw this ass an opportunity to claim all the dents and bumps on his car. What we do in the event of an accident within or home town is ask the other driver to come with us to our Axa Agents so that the form is filled out correctly even though we have the English one as well. Our agent promptly pointed out as our car was stationary and within a blue parking space all responsibility fell on him. The other driver promptly walked out and we have never heard from him again.

We did find out the hard way if your parked and you open your door and another car drives past clipping your door and damaging it's wing mirror it's your fault unless you are injured exiting the car and go to hospital.
