I wonder if someone can help me? We are hoping to spend Jan-Feb in or around the Benidorm area. We have a touring caravan and will be travelling Dover to Calais. Can you recommend a suitable route avoiding the toll roads where possible because we have no rush and we can spend the cash saved on better things. I have tried the usual route planners but get different advice. I am sure first hand experience will be better.

You may get additional input Tom by posting on the Spanish forum ... also search there because this question has been raised before. I'm doing that run (well, to Valencia) in 2 weeks.

you could try
www.mappy.com and input as non-express route, this avoids tolls, its aslo good to estimate your fuel costs.

hi there, did the same ran in feb, used navman to get me to the spanish broader, and then its toll free for the most part. We used a service station for the one over night stop, parked up with the truckers N/P.
If you don,t have sat nav, just have a look at a good map and you will find that the tow free roads run along the same route as the toll roads for the main part.
