Buying property - market trends?

Re: Buying property - market trends?
Rural Hmmm
I would say we are Rural, 30 mins to supermarket/town. 20 mins to petrol garage. But we do have a local shop and we do have mains sewage.
Internet speed isn't great. But it works for our needs.
Houses take a while to sell here, but I think like most Brits we have over priced. We don't know if we want to sell. So we have gone down the line if someone offers us what we paid then that would make our decision for us.
I would say definitely look into wood burners for the cheapest heating. We have been thinking about getting one with a back boiler to heat some radiators.
I'm not sure we have picked the best estate agents to be fair. We have found out one is an alchoholic who has memory problems. The other one got all our details wrong on their website and won't put us in their shop window, which was the only reason we chose them.
I think you definitely make some silly offers at the moment though. No harm in trying.

A good 'poêle à granulés' will heat four seperate rooms plus the room that it is in.
If your buying a small house in the middle of nowhere allocate 8000 euros to buy and install one of these.

A good 'poêle' will have two exits (sorties) at the back which then can be split into two......so in effect you have four 'sorties'. You then run tubbing to the four rooms you wish to heat. A pump on the Poêle then 'pumps' the heat around the house. Yes it require s a little work to tube the house but it is not that hard.
A poêle à granulés is electronic so you regulate the heat, programme it come on and off at certain times.
Personally, I think it is the best and cheapest heating solution.

Yes you're quite right about how it works tourain and the thickness of the walls is only an issue for taking the "tubbing" through.
I did read a while back that they are now concerned that carcinogens may be produced by the extremely high temperatures involved in these kind of poeles. Apparently it is the house dust which has settled on the outside (which is mainly human skin) which is carbonized, vaporized and then inhaled.
Just one more problem.

imho Air is a form of insulation so using it as a heat conductor is poor thermodynamics by heating a liquid mass your placing the heat source in each room creating better thermal conductivity.

Well lets see there is wood and whats that greasy stuff called oh yes oil. We don't use gas.

I have no idea what you are going on about. I don't want a bl00dy physics lesson. How do you heat your home. You have oil in your radiators ????

You're placing the heat source (?oil filled radiators - they do exist) in the rooms to heat up the air in the room - that's how the room gets warm. Unless you're sitting on it to warm up your bum- then it's conduction!

Air will warm faster but it will cool faster.
