Default alternative france ?

Hi There, we are new to this forum but it seems a good way to get the imformation we need. Like a lot of people on here we are think ing of making the move, but we are having difficulty finding the right area. we are in to alternative lifestyles, eco biulding, growing our own stuff etc....are there areas in france that people like us tend to gravitate to ?
Also we have a cottage in the Peak district, we were thinking about doing some sort of property swop, has anybody on here done this sort of thing?
All info will be welcomed, cheers.

Shed loads of hairy people in the Midi Pyrenees region of France , Miropoix St Girons and Foix. Miropoix and St G are renowned for their Markets were most of the produce is Bio. Ariege is just about to be defined as a National Park St Girons will be the Capitol town of the National Park Although Foix is the Department Capitol and Toulouse the regional Capitol. Two hours from the Med and less than an Hr from Andorra. Here we have Boars bears and lots of Deer, and Guns, The bears are of limits for shooting.

There are indeed shed full of them in the Pyrenees. Many of them were personally locked up there by Ka Ora but don't let that put you off It didn't me and I'm hoping one day he'll let me back in

Try going to the St Girons market (day?)
or the Esperaza market in the Aude on a sunday morning.

Seriously, the Ariege in particular and the western edge of the Aude are seriously alternative populated since the early middle ages by Cathars and then since the 1960s by those in need of Catharsis.

Also the Dordogne has it's share of alternatives up the way of Montignac/Plazac.

The Mountains of the Ardeche too.

But the Ariege/western Aude in the Mountains is the place to go.
