Re: Wanneroo Bush Fire Brigade Open Day
OK, it's 11.00, not 10 - sorry
This Sunday October 22 - 11am to 3pm
Wanneroo Fire Depot / Rangers Office Building One
City of Wanneroo Operations Centre, 1204 Wanneroo Rd ASHBY
Event organisers: Wes Miller & Mike Teraci (Wanneroo Chief Bushfire
Control Officer)
Scenario: A bushfire is 6km from your property heading your way with
the wind at 3kph. You now have only 2 hours to decide what to do. Stay?
Prepare to evacuate? What about your pets and animals? Where do we all
go?
Long range weather forecasts predict another very dry summer which means
the very real danger of bushfires. If you or people you know would like
advice on how to make your property, animals & your family as safe as
possible this season, come along this Sunday. Receive great advice from
the professionals. On site will be;
* Joondalup Fire & Rescue
* Police - Crime Prevention Unit
* RSPCA Chief Inspector
Also offering valuable advice on keeping your property fire safe will be
duty rangers and the Wanneroo Volunteer Bushfire Brigade. The brigade
will have the fire operations centre in full demonstration mode with
fire fighting vehicles on display.
For the kids we will have an animal farm set up on site plus a bouncy
castle. Fire & Rescue Joondalup will be performing rescue demonstrations
from vehicles. There will also be a free sausage sizzle.
So come on, come along and learn how to keep your family, property &
pets safe from bushfire this summer. For further information, please
contact me.
