T'would happen in the UK too.

People in England would be too busy spouting Shakespeare and traipsing around old cloisters investigating murders to notice a bit of swell at the White Cliffs of Dover.

I told someone at work we were raising money for the Tsuanami a few years ago.

He wanted to know how much they cost.

Triple M just stated that the first wave high is in the order of 20cm reducing for each from then, landfall in the NE.

Doesn't sound like much to me, but then I'm no expert. I would suggest not going in the sea in a blow-up floaty reading a paperback book and sipping your Pims, just in case you get overturned as it passes.

Straight up... Asked the cabbie how much he thought it would be and he quoted 30/35 and when we got to the car park by the wharf to get the 'Cruiser there was 32 on the clock... So 35 included the tip...

i recall a mate coming from the city to our place at Queensie, and i'm sure it was about the $75/80 mark
thankfully he was on a business trip and his company had given him a cab charge card...

Surely if it hadn't hit Cooktown by 9:30 it wasn't going to get anywhere close to Sydney Harbour later.
