Loads of debris in the road when I drove to work this morning and a power pole down as well.
Meant to hit at 10pm tonight , wonder if Synergy will give another $80 if the power is out for another 24hrs.
Bunnings at Port Kennedy was open ,even with no power , sold out of D batteries and candles - should have kept the old gas lantern

Just picked up some at Red Dot plus some candles. thanks anyway.

Sent of the form to Western Power for $80 - cover some of the spoilt food.

Dogs are very quiet today , must feel the air pressure of the coming storm.

My son & his o/h have no power, they have a newborn at home & no means of warming a bottle for the baby in the night. Daytime he's using their BBQ to boil water not practical at 4am with that much wind. Lol we told him to get an emergency kit together months ago, including torch, candles, small camping gas stove & light etc. Did he listen?.......................did he hell.
I told him last night he'll find sympathy between shit & syphilis in the dictionary.

Here we go again, round two.

Our power was off for 22 hours the first time. Hubby managed to borrow a generator from work but it was the next morning and too late to save the contents of the fridge. Oh well, it needed a cleaning out anyway.

There's no candles anywhere. It was surreal going through the shops...about half of the canned soups gone, all UHT milk (except soy snarf) gone, all batteries and torches gone.

Well, off to get the kids from school and then batten down the hatches. Hope the roof holds.

I got sent home early from work, lots of people getting the same idea about heading home.

We can hear high winds in the distance and it is windy outside but thats about it. Im charging up the laptop and our portable DVD player so we can watch DVDs if the electric goes. I have checked the fridge and we have no alcohol Never mind water, beer is always good for a war effort but I have spied a block of chocolate in there.

yes all non essential staff at hospital were sent home early today and beds provided for those who had to stay. Was a bit hairy this morning when the electric went out again and the emergency generator didnt kick in Thought about getting a bottle of wine for the evening but figured best not incase of emergency. We are well prepared as we can be... DD made some chocolate muffins and dinner is already to be cooked on the gas if the power goes out. Wind is just starting to pick up but nothing major right now. Enjoy the ride

I can hear the black cockatoos outside, I hope none are injured and they are safely roosting when the storm hits.

We have a gas stove anyway and we have a portable one we use for camping, plus some camping lamps.

I saw that radar pic someone posted on FB, the bright red area was quite substantial - not that I understand it all.

I was thinking it might not happen or be as bad but just looking at one part of the sky which is really dark so who knows?
