Plenty of walls and roofs blown off would have been a mess if that went through brisbane or sydney.

Lots of serious property damage. My mates up there said its like a war zone, or a rundown shanty town. As you say, if that had happened somewhere more populated.....and it wasn't even a cyclone type event, just an "ordinary" Queensland thunderstorm.

Could be fun

Leading edge of this cloud formation is now over Alex Hills/Capalaba.

Might start shutting up the house now.....

Nice black clouds & a bit of a light show down Cleveland way from here, but it missed us, just the lightest of rain now.

Getting closer ......seems to be heading in from the Ipswich direction. We can see it getting nearer and nearer to the city from our house and we can actually hear the thunder now. Still we could really do with the rain right now. Everything in the garden is looking really sorry for itself, if it hasn't already died.

Next update due shortly (11.30) but we can hear it now and see flashing although map still has it missing us, think the little where the storm is map is very good of the Aussies to provide...shame they couldn't do the same with police speed cameras.

Just hope the siren things never go off we would s**t ourselves... :scared: :scared: :scared: apparantly there is a general get the **** out of there one and a different cyclone one all of which would come over your radio, TV etc. if ever set off.

Nasty lightning & thunder & some steady rain here now - but hopefully nothing bad in it, just seems to be passing over now.

The front has split, and seems to have missed us again.

I can hear some thunder a little bit, and we had a little rain a short whiel agao, but nothing really.
