Re: Severe/Extreme/Catastrophic Fire Danger - Jan 2013
Wherever you are, be aware of the weather around you, there are currently hot, dry, gusty conditions in many areas not usually prone to fires.
Dial 000 in an emergency and/or life-threatening situation.
If you get an automated alert by landline or mobile heed the advice.Emergency Alerts are only sent when essential and should be listened to and acted on. Same with advice from local emergency services workers - heed it.
Review your bushfire plans, make sure everyone in the household is aware of what is in the plan, children included, and make sure they know what to do and where to shelter if necessary. If your plan is to leave, make sure you all know at what point tomleave and where to gather afterwards and stick to the plan.
STAY SAFE. Don't be heroes, just be safe.

Re: Severe/Extreme/Catastrophic Fire Danger - Jan 2013
There is also a very serious fire danger in many places not specifically covered by the warnings.
Many fires are still burning in Tasmania and impacing homes. Many other fires are sparking up in other States. Just because there may not be a specific warning for your area, don't get complacent, be aware of what is happening around you. As the residents of southern Tasmania will tell you, it only takes minutes to destroy a town.

Definitely not intruding! The more people post in this forum the better when things like the Fires are going on - specially as thats usually the times I'm busy at work so all I can do is cut, paste, and run
