Coastal Waters Wind Warning
For Bowen to Double Island Point, including Hervey Bay.
Issued at 4:45 am EST on Sunday 17 February 2013

Synoptic Situation
A high [1027 hPa] over the southern Tasman Sea is expected to move slowly east during the week, maintaining a ridge along most of the east Queensland coast. A trough off the southern tropical coast is likely to deepen later today and on Monday, with a low developing on the trough expected to move southeast during Monday and Tuesday while deepening. The low is expected to be located offshore of the southern Queensland coast by late Tuesday and on Wednesday, with the potential to produce strong to gale force winds and rough seas and swells, depending on its proximity to the coast.

Default Re: Qld/NSW Coast -East COast Low - Rockhampton southwards

Low pressure area now expected to develop off Mackay during Monday.

Expect heavy rain from Cairns south to Mackay, from Mackay south will probably be heavier, and with increasing wind. Possibly 200mm in some areas of South east Qld, including the Gold Coast, mostly on Tuesday.

Track of the Low still unclear but at present its expected to track down the coast while staying offshore.

Local creeks and known flood spots already coming up around here, going to for not too much.

We've just had a visit by the council re: the last lot of flooding ... might as well have them on speed-dial ...
