Good luck to people "üp north"....

Just wanted to say Good luck to the loads of people I know "up north", and to all the other posters up there, and all their friends/family....

Stay safe, heed the warnings, they are genuine as this is a very serious event.

Be good to see you all checking in again safe and sound afterwards :):fingerscrossed:

I've just had a moment of awful realisation - having been a Southern softie for most of my life, I'm now a Northern Bastard! :p

I think with everything being almost ready now - just got to pack supplies to take with us - we aren't having the calm before the storm, it's chaos in the house as everyone is just overexcited and silly, but at least it's passing the time albeit giving me a headache!

Hope everyone gets through this ok :fingerscrossed:

Re: Good luck to people "üp north"....

A few months after I moved to Bermuda there was a hurricane. We had a couple of days notice as it made its way towards us and I remember announcing to my boss that I was going home to "take the cushions off the patio furniture". My Boss looked at me funny and said "[Bermudashorts] you need to move the furniture".

This was a mere Cat 1 or 2 hurricane and Bermuda has concrete houses so it was never a really serious situation although precations are always necessary.

I hope everyone is prepared and keeps safe and well. :fingerscrossed:

Just tried to book a trip to Green Island for tomorrow.
They said it's closed.

Darn it.

I thought I may get a cheap excursion even without asking for my loco discount.

Was reading some comments from a friend of a friend who lives up in Cairns and they're being very casual about it all. Sincerely hope they don't come unstuck.
