Floods - South Coast NSW gets it in the chops ...
Had nearly 7 inches of rain in 24 hours here. Most of the roads around us are flooded out - Broughton creek (actually a big old river) off the Shoalhaven is about a foot off bursting its banks. Got another full day of full-on rain to come, so it's only going to get worse. Most of the parents round here are picking their kids up from school. At least it's forecast to ease off tommorow and at least I've got a 4WD!!

Some photos I took on the way back from school. Pretty much cut off now. Highway's shut in both directions - but we do have a two storey home ...

We've actually had about five minutes without rain just now. Cool pics Hutch. Our High School oval looked that that road yesterday - the ride on mower guy was still doing his bit - looked like a boat full throttle on a river

Forecast for tommorow's much better ....
Early fog patches. Isolated showers in the north and rain periods in the south. Isolated afternoon thunderstorms. Chiefly moderate to fresh southwest to southeast winds. Dangerous surf conditions.

Heavy rain and flash flooding likely across South East Qld tonight and into tomorrow, along with dangerous surf conditions (tail end of Cyclone Gene). There's a lot of water to run into the rivers yet so take care near creeks and bridges.

There's a design fault with thongs. When the floor is wet, the sole of the thong is wet and your feet are wet, you may as well have ice skates on your feet - it's lethal
