Brisbane street remains closed as authorities probe sinkhole
The Brisbane City Council is warning more sink holes may appear on the city's roads.
A three-metre hole appeared on Felix Street in the CBD yesterday afternoon and some lanes are still closed.
Deputy Mayor Graham Quirk says council believes recent flooding caused the subsidence but tests are being conducted.
"The road has been filled in - it's been made safe on a temporary basis," he said.
"We will now need to establish exactly what services are under the road.
"We know that there are services in existence and we will undertaking comprehensive searches before we start digging around too much and causing disruption."
