I sent an email to my Head of Dept this afternoon headed "Floods, Cyclones, Fires and Plagues of Locusts" as part of my job is sending comms to people and we've been excluding all the affected areas, which I think need reviewing.

I thought I was joking about the Locusts 'til I went on http://www.bom.gov.au/vic/ to check the flood areas and noticed the link to http://new.dpi.vic.gov.au/agricultur...s-activity-map

Brisbane street remains closed as authorities probe sinkhole

The Brisbane City Council is warning more sink holes may appear on the city's roads.

A three-metre hole appeared on Felix Street in the CBD yesterday afternoon and some lanes are still closed.

Deputy Mayor Graham Quirk says council believes recent flooding caused the subsidence but tests are being conducted.

"The road has been filled in - it's been made safe on a temporary basis," he said.

"We will now need to establish exactly what services are under the road.

"We know that there are services in existence and we will undertaking comprehensive searches before we start digging around too much and causing disruption."

Felix Street in the city

I can give you all a longer list of possible disasters in more detail if you like but don't want to freak everyone out

http://www.disaster.qld.gov.au/publications/ have a look at our reports for the stuff we've dealt with as "everyday" issues.........

I intentionally missed it but was jack-knifed on the car-wreak that is Hale And Pace Down Under .... It was not pretty, in my defence our remote is broken and the night drags on a bit post wine.

I saw Hale And Pace live in the UK many years ago, not pretty ...
