Firefighting Fireman Fire Brigade Firefighter Australia
That should cover a few searches.
Welcome to the Firie's thread.
Guess who now wants to be a full time firie?
First Question: How does your State do firefighting?
VIC: Metropolitan Fire Brigade
http://www.mfb.org.au
(Paid Fulltime) up to say 20k out
Country Fire Authority
http://www.cfa.vic.gov.au
Paid Fulltime at 'integrated' (mixed) stations
CFA Volunteer Part Time elsewhere; stations could be classed as Urban
or Rural Brigades
CFA Rescue - Specialist units dotted around
(SES - who often share the rescue work esp rural areas)

QLD Qld Fire Rescue Service
Paid up Permies in Metropolitan area
Paid up Part-Time Auxiliaries in Mixed and non-Mixed stations
Rural Fire Service (Volunteer)
and the SES - "who often share the rescue work esp rural areas" - not so much active fire work up here in Qld, though they do provide support at bushfires - we have a lot out in the Caloundra area tonight, helping with evacuation of the publicand food/drink support for the Firies

Don't forget the most important fact that regardless of what position you are in the UK, in Australia you start at the bottom as a recruit(for fulltime personnel)
