This is an upgraded Watch and Act message issue by Country Fire Authority for Pental Island, Fish Point.
The SWAN HILL grassfire is currently not yet under control.
This fire is currently located on the south eastern Pental Island floodway and is moving towards the Pental Island Fish Point Road.

It is now travelling south easterly direction.
Spot fires may occur in front of the fire.

Don't wait, leaving now is the safest option - conditions may change and get worse very quickly. Emergency Services may not be able to help you.
Travel to;

- The home of family or friends that is away from the warning area.
- Swan Hill

This is a Watch and Act message issued by Country Fire Authority for Tatyoon North, Challicum.

There is a large grassfire travelling in a north-easterly direction from Mt William Road, Tatyoon towards the Old Geelong Road, Mount Challicum.

This grassfire is currently not yet under control.


The fire could impact any time between 4.00pm and 5.00pm.

Don't wait, leaving now is the safest option - conditions may change and get worse very quickly. Emergency Services may not be able to help you if you decide to stay.

When driving, slow down and turn on your headlights; smoke will make it difficult to see.

Road closures are located at:

* Tatyoon North Road and Mt William Road
* Eurambeen - Streatham Road and Mt William Road

Smoke may be visible from nearby communities and roads.

Emergency Warning

Location: PENTAL ISLAND
Incident Name: PENTAL ISLAND RD
Issued: 28/12/13 5:24 PM

This is an Emergency Warning issued by Country Fire Authority for Lake Boga, Winlaton, Pental Island, Fish Point.

There is a fast moving, out of control grassfire travelling in a southerly direction from Caelli Lane towards Fish Point and Lake Boga.

Spotfires and Ember Attacks have been reported.

If safe to do so move to Pental Island Caravan Park. DO NOT DRIVE THROUGH FIRE



A wind change is expected around (18:00AM/PM), which will cause the fire to change in a North Easterly direction.

Safety Information
When indoors:
Close all exterior doors, windows and vents and turn off cooling systems.
Shelter in a room that has a door and or a window to the outside - It is critical to keep an eye on what is happening with the fire.
If you cannot get indoors, other last resort options include:

A large open area like a ploughed paddock, football oval or sporting reserve.
A large body of water like a dam, lake, river, the ocean or inground pool.
Try to protect yourself from the fire's heat.
In the car:

Park behind a solid structure to block the fire's heat or pull over to a cleared area.
Try to position the car towards the approaching fire.
Put on your hazard lights and headlights.
Turn the engine off, close all windows and ensure that car air vents are closed.
Get down as low as possible below window level and cover up with a woolen blanket.
If you are travelling, do not enter the area, U-turn to safety.

If you are away from home, do not return.

If you need medical advice for burns or smoke exposure call Nurse on Call on 1300 606 024

This is an upgraded Emergency Warning issued by Country Fire Authority for Pental Island, Fish Point.

The PENTAL ISLAND grassfire is currently not yet under control.

Firefighters have been unable to stop the fire and is moving towards the Murray River in a Northerly direction.

Spot fires and ember attacks have been reported.

A Relief Centre has been established at the Lake Boga Community Centre, Lalbert Road Lake Boga

You are now in immediate danger, act now to protect yourself. Emergency Services may not be able to help

This is an Emergency Warning issued by Country Fire Authority for Emu Creek, Harcourt North, Sedgwick, Axe Creek, Sutton Grange.

There is a fast moving, out of control grassfire travelling in a north easterly direction from Sutton grange Road towards Emu Creek.




You are in danger, act now to protect yourself.
It is too late to leave. The safest option is to take shelter indoors immediately.
