Re: Bushfire Alert - Sampson Flat, SA
Tea Tree Gully Boarding Kennels & Cattery has lost all the cats that were boarding there, and a large number of dogs. Their post on facebook says
We did manage to save in excess of 40 dogs. Devastatingly we lost the cattery and none of the cats survived.
We love all the animals we have in our care and are devastated by this. Our deepest sympathy to all who have suffered a loss.
We have lost a home, business & pets we love and feel so awful about the loss of people's beloved pets.
Poor wee creatures Suffering alongside the wildlife.

Re: Bushfire Alert - Sampson Flat, SA
Up to 32 homes are feared lost and more than 11,000 hectares have been burnt, as firefighters continue to battle blazes in the Adelaide Hills.
Premier Jay Weatherill has confirmed 12 homes have been destroyed and it is feared a further 20 homes could also have been lost.
This morning, Mr Weatherill surveyed the fire-affected areas and said the situation was an "unfolding tragedy" for people who have lost their properties.
"There were many burnt-out houses but miraculously there were also many houses that were saved even though all of the area around them was black," he said.
"I also saw fires really licking at the edges of a number of houses that were being stoutly defended."
Mr Weatherill said efforts would be made to contact people whose homes had been destroyed.
"This is obviously enormously distressing to the people concerned," Mr Weatherill said.
A SA Bushfire Recovery Hotline has been launched and is available at 1800 302 787 for information about emergency cash grants of up to $700, as well as for people wanting to provide financial donations to support affected communities.
================================
Two people missing in the Adelaide Hills fire zone have been found safe and well as more than 800 fire fighters spend a second day battling an out-of-control blaze in the Adelaide Hills.
Twelve homes have been lost, the Country Fire Service said, a number expected to rise as a massive fire burns uncontrolled on all fronts.

CFS advises that a bushfire at Sampson Flat in the Mount Lofty Ranges near One Tree Hill, Humbug Scrub, Para Wirra Recreation Park, Mount Crawford, Kersbrook, Birdwood, Gumeracha, Kenton Valley, Cudlee Creek area and Inglewood may threaten your safety. The SAMPSON FLAT fire is continuing to burn and cause concern in the following areas: Frank Barker Road at Humbug Scrub has active fire to the North and ground crews are working in the area. Between Little Para Road, Deloraine Road and Watts Gully Road has active fire burning and ground crews and aircraft are working in the area. Between Gorge Road and Torrens Valley Road in the Cudlee Creek and Kenton Valley areas there is active fire burning in a Southerly direction and crews are currently working here however many areas are inaccessible. The entire fire perimeter of the Sampson Flat fire has pockets of free burning fuel; crews are actively patrolling and dealing with the fire edge. The uncontrolled fire is burning in scrub and grass. Check and follow your Bushfire Survival Plan and prepare for a bushfire in your area. If your plan is to leave or you are not prepared, leave now. Only leave if the path is clear to a safe place. Well prepared and actively defended homes can offer safety. You should not enter this area as roads may not be safe. Stay tuned to this radio station on a battery-powered radio for updates. Re: Bushfire Alert - Sampson Flat, SA
Fire crews are working through the night to stop the Adelaide Hills bushfire from extending further as winds and temperatures are expected to increase, the Country Fire Service (CFS) says.
More than 700 firefighters were at the fireground on Monday in Adelaide's north-east, working to secure the blaze ahead of 38 degrees Celsius temperatures forecast for Tuesday and Wednesday.
The fire has burnt more than 12,000 hectares and destroyed or badly damaged 26 homes so far.
Authorities have continued to assess the damage from the fire, which started on Friday afternoon at Sampson Flat, with the number of houses destroyed expected to climb.

Re: Bushfire Alert - Sampson Flat, SA
Ninety-five per cent of the fire ground north-east of Adelaide has been contained by the Country Fire Service (CFS), South Australian Premier Jay Weatherill says.
The Premier completed a tour of the area as rain arrived and lightning sparked a number of grass fires on Wednesday afternoon.
Mr Weatherill said firefighting efforts together with the rain had made "an important contribution" in containing the Sampson Flat blaze, which has been burning since Friday.
CFS chief officer Greg Nettleton said there were two areas still of concern at Paracombe and the Para Wirra Conservation Park.
