Because the bushfire risk in QLD goes down just as our season begins. Well, that's what I've been told anyway.

Lets hope the koala's took refuge in your trees at the bottom of your garden Pen

Put loads of food out for them and the other unfortunate animals now without a home!

Yep ours peeks in August, we hit the rainy season in a couple of weeks.............allegedly
Incidentally our brigade have all just been issued with a second set of kit. It took weeks to arrive as it had to come from bloody WA. The really stupid thing is the uniforms are actually made just a few k's down the road in Gympie then shipped over to WA only to be shipped back again. Our second officer works in the factory so we're all getting name badges sewed on our jackets foc.

My daughter reckoned there were "hundreds of helicopters" Two's pretty good though.
Not sure of the origins of the tenders, but they were an urban/rural mix. It is quite scary how thinly manned some areas are, though if something big starts they pull in crews quickly from further away.

Looks like two kids were "helping police with their enquiries"

Apparently they were in court today. Community service, a fine and something else. Not 100% sure of facts but it would seem they were playing silly sods and it just got out of hand. I'd like to show them the back of my hand Someone at the school reckoned that it was the boys who called it in though.
