Default Hotel and accom bookings - status of premises

From the Centro hotel chain:

======================================
Central WESTEND
Has been severely affected, with underground car-park completely submerged and surrounding Melbourne Street flooded. Shops and restaurants in the complex flooded and not operating. No power to the building. Regretfully, we don't expect to resume our hotel operation at this property for at least four weeks. We are currently working remotely to contact all of those guests with reservations over this time to assist in providing alternative accommodation solutions. For information or assistance please call Brisbane +61 7 3115 0400 during business hours or email [email protected]

Central COSMO, Milton
Whilst no damage or flooding to the property, power has been cut and not expected to be renewed until early next week. Additionally, there is no access to the property with surrounding roads closed. We are currently working remotely to contact all of those guests with reservations over this time to assist in providing alternative accommodation solutions. For information or assistance please call Brisbane +61 7 3115 0400 during business hours or email [email protected]

Central HILLCREST, South Brisbane, Central SUMMIT, Spring Hill, Central DOCKSIDE, Kangaroo Point = All trading as normal

Residences at Central PARKLANDS, Roma Street, Central ALLEGRO, South Brisbane, Central KELVIN GROVE URBAN VILLAGE, Kelvin Grove - Operating as normal

Central EMPORIUM, Fortitude Valley - Power has been cut, but expected to be re-instated later today. Otherwise operating normally.

Central WATERS EDGE, West End - There has been significant damage to the pool and the grounds however the water from the river has NOT entered the building. The car park under the building has flooded, and all residents evacuated. Power has been cut.

Central SHERWOOD, Sherwood - Sadly this site has experienced quite a lot of damage. The Outlook – which are the entertainment facilities has been completely submerged by water. The car park under Jacaranda and Brookline is also completely submerged. Whilst floodwaters did not reach the interior of the apartment buildings, it did however breach a number of houses and townhouses. The entire complex was evacuated late on Wednesday afternoon. Power has been cut and access to the property restricted.

I had to ring expedia.com they have said they and 'most' properties will be 'flexible' with bookings given current circumstances.

Singapore airlines sent me email saying departures from bris, no penalty fee for changes up to 26 january.

Brisbane hospital seems to be going ahead with surgery for next 2 weeks, but cancellations were made for this week. However they advise they can change that up to a few hours before booking - so really you have no idea till the day before

Qld transport, driving tests in a complete mess, log books for learner drivers lost/missing/ they dont know

Looks like there is going to be plenty of chaos.
