Well if you do meet anyone, please feel free to PM me the details!
The reason I'm looking is because a vast amount of BBC material was wiped after it's transmission as it was no longer considered worth holding onto. This means the early seasons of many TV shows have gaping holes in them. 'Doctor Who' was one such show. However, 16mm films were sold abroad in the 60's and 70's - this has lead to many discoveries of materials once thought long lost. For example, about 78 episodes of Doctor Who have been found and returned, but over 100 are still missing.. there is a chance copies are still held abroad in territories where the BBC sold the rights to screen these shows.
To the average Joe this won't mean much, but if you check any 16mm collections in the Far East, NZ and parts of Africa - there is a chance there may be missing Doctor Who/Top of the Pops/Dad's Army episodes that are currently listed as 'lost'. If they're there, I'm going to try and find them, and return them!
I hope that helps answer your question!
Best!

I'm trying to contact collectors or people who have films about Hong Kong or the Far East. I have some 300 clips on YouTube on the region but try to add more. You may find them by searching YouTube with 'michael rogge'

Have you considered documenting your experiences somewhere? One day you wont be around to tell people about them.
