Hi everyone, I am a professional painter and decorator from the UK. I still reside in the uk but would like to eventually look to love abroad with my wife and young family. I am looking for ways To fly out to Spain or wherever needed to find British Expats with homes abroad to paint and/or decorate. I want to do this so I can see what the possibilities are like out there whilst I learn a little more about their different paints and standards are abroad as I am presuming it will differ greatly from the uk.

could anyone tell me where I can possibly reach out to people or forums where I can speak to expats etc to talk about how I can go about this

thankyou All in advance

Storing wills

My Spanish will is stored with the firm that wrote it here, didn’t cross my mind to do anything else. But soon on a visit to the UK I will be completing/signing my will there, but I read varying opinions about how to store it in the UK. I gather there have been a lot of UK solicitor firms closing, and that when that happens the SRA steps in and transfers it to a new firm. But I have a friend in the UK who recently found out (thanks to me) his will made 20 years ago has been through two firms, both now closed, and the current whereabouts a mystery, though hopefully it will turn up.
So that puts me off storing it with the solicitor. I’m inclined to use the HCTMS service, but of course that means sending it in the post to Newcastle, albeit from within the UK and recorded delivery, and then waiting for the lodgement certificate, which also seems open to things going wrong. Curious to know what those who have wills in both countries have done.

Has anyone any experience of this sort of contract - a rent-to-buy contract—Alquiler con opción a compra?
Coincidentally enough I have two separate semi-friends who could possibly be at either end of one, a renter/buyer for one and an owner for the other (both EU citizens but not Spain). Not the same property though.

I'd not heard of them but have had a quick look and think they seem to be a reasonable solution in some circumstances.
Do we know of any major hiccups with them or are they a fairly standard thing to do?

I have successfully used a Chromebook laptop to access my Iberdrola online account for years - but now I cannot sign in or reset my password.

Has anybody else suffered with this issue, and if so, how did you fix it?

Trying to contact Iberdrola via email/phone/whatsapp has so far been useless.

I am a British citizen with 95% of my assets in the USA. I am planning to relocate to Span on an NLV and want to do it tax efficiently. Any recommended tax firms?

I will have income producing LLCs and Corporations in the US which I hope to treat as opaque entities for tax purposes and only declare distributions on my Spanish tax returns.

Hi all,

appreciate you must of answered questions like these a million times, if you could humour me though I'd appreciate it!

Myself and my wife are both 34, with 2 children aged 7 and 5 really considering moving to spain, (Alicante area) and are just looking for the basics in terms of requirments/process before we delve further, and just getting an idea of if it's actually possible or just a pipe dream.

My wife is a primary school teacher, middle management and would be looking to continue that when moved. I'm currently in a dead end job and would be happy doing anything providing it gives us an income. Once we have sold our house it would leave us with around 130,000 cash equity/savings to move on with. We wouldn't be looking at moving any of our items with us, we've never really had much in terms of any value so I'm assuming the cost of moving them would be higher than just buying them again. We have 2 cars, but again, would it be simpler to sell them and purchase a car over there?

My wife's parents recently retired in the Alicante area so have housing we could stay in weather it be short term or slightly longer.

I guess I'm just asking, given the above information if this a realistic thing to happen? I've no idea about Visa's, houses etc over there. I've no idea in terms of schools for our kids. Appreciate im being very vauge but this is the first time i will of asked about the subject to anyone. Any advice would be much appreciated.

thank you!!
