Schengen to other EU countries stamping UK passports again

The Croatia border police are now stamping British passports on entry and exit from a Schengen country. I had a flight originating from Belgrade airport on November 3 and was stamped in and out of Croatia and again at Serbia coming from Pécs in Hungary. Same in the return direction - 8 useless stamps spread over 2 pages! The Croatia official on re-entry informed me that UK citizens were now considered as coming from a "third country" from November 1 despite the UK still being an EC member. No visas are currently required for either country but that could change.

Has anyone else come across this?

Interesting but they shouldn’t be doing that.
