Now there's a weird thing.

I haven't heard anything at all for ages about a haircut. Nobody, apart from the twerps who repeat ad infinitum that Greece just wants free money etc, seriously expects it, as far as I know. The EU side have all stuck to the line that debt write-offs (or write-downs or whatever they're calling them today) are out of the question. And yet here's Lagarde apparently saying Greece doesn't need a haircut at the moment.

How odd.

It's a mess and the can will continue to be kicked down the road until they find there is a bomb inside the can and it explodes

You never know - the bomb disposal team might be along later this year.

Surprisingly, there doesn't seem to be much demand for one.

Greece agrees basic terms to unlock delayed bailout - BBC News

Aa reported by the the BBC news article above, the Euro Zone and Greece agreed 'the main elements of a deal to unlock a delayed bailout payment' on the 7 April 2017. All needs to be done was to 'put the last dots on the i's', according to the Dutch finance minister, Jeroen Dijsselbloem.

The failure to collect enough tax revenue has always been a farce in Greece, but it sounds like they have given up and decided that it is easier to cut payments to some of their most vulnerable citizens rather than do anything about the tax collection problem!

I can't help but wonder if the plan is to force Greece out of the EU and/or spark a revolution.

Why would the creditors want to spark a revolution?
