Sorry, no idea, but in case any one, like me, is unfamiliar with the concept:

None of them have that category, all of them will recognise UKC's continuing status as resident if the UKC has established residency before the UK Brexits (if they do).

okay so all we have to do is to go to the EU country of choice a few days to Brexit day n wait till after Brexit to qualify as one.

Depends if there is a Withdrawal Agreement or not. If not then some have made contingency arrangements, some have not. In the latter British citizens relying on freedom of movement will simply become third country nationals on 1 November.

If only it was so easy. Almost every EU country has its own qualification rules and stipulations. Settled status equivalents won't be granted anyway unless you have been resident for a number of years, most of the time 5 years. Less than 5 years will probably be some other classification.

That'll more or less be the way it'll work in Portugal, according to the Minister responsible. Anybody in Portugal prior to Brexit day, wishing to continue residing ought (if they haven't already) to get a certificate of registration of residence of a citizen of the EU from the local municipal authority, preferably prior to the actual exit date but with the continued possibility of doing so up to 31st December 2020 provided they could prove their eligibility.

That was to apply even without an agreement, the sole proviso being that the UK would do the same for PT citizens in the UK.

So yes, in Portugal, in theory at least, you could arrive the day before a Brexit without WA and still qualify to reside under he terms for EU nationals initially, qualifying for permanent resident status after 5 years and with an option for citizenship, should you want it, on grounds of residency thereafter.

I'm not sure if it will be this easy. No doubt you would need to be registered. Every EU member will have their own rules.
