The government is elected by the people, so the only way that could happen would be if the people elected them to do it.
Then again a country who votes to have UKIP (which means you chicken in one of the official languages of the EU) representing them in Europe probably is stupid enough to do that.

Had a read and the what if questions crept into mind. Get the feeling that we'll all probably head down that route sometime in the future don't you think?

I'd have never made the leap from UKIP to u kip .... but you're right!

How about Spain,at present the only requirement is to carry your passport (or Residencia if you choose to get it)
However with regard to the Biometrics thing, I believe you will find that sooner or later virtualy all advanced states will move onto it as a price for travelling,doing business etc with the USA,and for security purposes,it appears to be the way of the world unfortunatly

Yes when I first heard of UKIP all I could think about was that annoying commercial for chicken where they are singing about kip and how lekker it is.
I find it quite hilarious that the UK is the country that complains the most about not being represented in the EU and then they send these idiots in.
