Eea/eu/australia?

Hi,

Despite of Australia being most favourite destination of british expats and britishers, Australia is not even considered among EEA/EU?Are there any special and specific reasons for not doing this?

Please comment and list benefits of Australian Citizenship outside Australia?

Thanks,

I would imagine that the main reason that Oz is not in the EU is because it's not in Europe! :) The EU is a coalition of countries set up to provide a local common market to produce and export goods and produce to guaranteed markets. Australia is a bit too far away to benefit either from or to this.

Australia is a Commonwealth country though and the benefits from this are the same as any Commonwealth country. Visas and travelling documents between Commonwealth countries are usually easier to obtain than if you have a nationality outside the Commonwealth.

:p
