Default Driving to Egypt from Belgium-help

Hi I am planning to drive to Egypt from Belgium in middle or late December.

I havent been able to find any ferry from greece or turkey to Egypt, which can carry a vehicle.

I am realizing maybe I may need to get to Isreal and pass the boarder to Egypt.

Does anybody know any ferry from greece or turkey directly to egypt?

Also anyone drove through Bosnia, Macedonia area? Any major problems?

Thanks

Steven

You probably won't be able to get into Syria unless you can demonstrate a
plan that doesn't involve Israel.

Isn't there a ferry from Aqaba (Jordan) to Taba (Egypt)?

Why not try another route: Italy, Sicilia, and from there you could probably
take a ferry to Tunisia. This way you can avoid all the risky regions, such
as the Balkans, the middle-east or Algeria.

The above link is the story of an over-land trip by Land Rover
from Oman to Holland.

There may be some ideas for you there.

Hi

I've crossed the land border Israel to Egypt at Taba on foot a few times.
It is slow, lots of paper, but passable. I noticed a few cars and trucks crossing, some with Israel plates.

Another solution maybe the ferry from Aquaba to Nuweiba, which runs at least daily.

Bon chance

Peter

Is it not possible to take the car ferry from Marseilles to Tunis then cross through Tunisia and Libya? (www.sncm.fr ) In Libya you will have the chance to see the marvellous Roman towns of Leptis Magna and Sabratha and more. And the drive across northen Egypt must be interesting as well, Mersah Matrouh apparently has the best beach in the Mediterranean! Then you arrive in Alexandria and then down the desert road to the Pyramids and Cairo.

I don't have any up to date knowledge of the border regulations etc but it is most probably alright these days. And it may be a little safer travelling this way?

Just a thought.
