CHextricating - the way forward,

Re: CHextricating - the way forward,
'Tis done, mostly. The big truck arrived bang on time, having dropped his trailer in the adjoining street. Couldn't get near the house for trucks and trailers this morning, they loaded the truck, he took that off to his trailer, and the packers then ferried the remainder of the goods to his trailer in their slightly smaller truck. All went well, the big truck departed at 3 o'clock with one of the local guys on board to help him clear Swiss customs.
Then we started finding things that had been missed; our mega vacuum cleaner got left behind, but the local people have taken it and will get that up there by 'other means'. They also missed a cupboard full of shoes, boots and a couple of jackets, but we'll be sorting those tomorrow.
All in all a good job done. We spent a large chunk of the day with the next door neighbours, and had a fairly emotional meet with the new owners this evening. Tomorrow should be our last visit to the house, we get Friday off then fly up on Saturday afternoon.

Re: CHextricating - the way forward,
Having gone to the house to collect the shoes, boots and jackets, we found a few more things that had been missed, prompting me to go buy yet another huge holdall to cram stuff into and booking even more excess baggage for the flight.
We were supposed to return the ISP's router to one of their shops today, but it was nowhere to be found, so we have to assume that it's currently en route to Belgium...
But we have made our last house visit, and said goodbye to the neighbours...
Tomorrow we repack everything that is still with us, an early supper back in Geneva with some long standing friends and our girls, then Saturday we're out of here.

Re: CHextricating - the way forward,
And out!
A good evening on Friday, turned down loads of 'we will see you off at the airport' offers, we wanted that to be just us and our girls. We four had lunch together, pretty emotional, but as usual, huge fun.
Arrived on time in Zaventem to sunshine (!).
Camping out with sis-in-law for a few days until the camion arrives.
Just had a proper breakfast.
