Buying off plan
My brother and I have just bought a 2 bed apartment in Vinaros, Spain. it was due for completion on the 30th June (In the contract) but we have just recieved a letter from the Estate agents saying the building work has been delayed 3 weeks due to excessive rain. -Although the contract does not mention any compensation if the completion date is not met, are we entitled to any and if so how do we go about getting it?

Cheers Philip Compensation in Spain, you must be havin a larf... :D :D |
you will probably see a clause called acts of god or if it's in Spanish fuerza mayor which will include heavy rain. Therefore making it nearly impossible to claim compensation.
You're quite lucky as 3 weeks isn't a big delay in comparison to many All the Best Danny Pathfinder www.relocatingtoandalucia.com |
If you can't get compensation from your developer................you could always sue God for the rain and therefore his responsibility for the delay.:D :D
Ps.........Since Spain is mostly catholic, I would imagine the Pope would be representing him....... :D |
