British citizen planning to give a birth in Slovakia
Hello everyone, can you help?
I am a British citizen planning to give a birth in Slovakia and also stay there for couple of years. I would like to receive Statutory Maternity Pay (SMP) from my current employer. Is it better to stay employed or resign before I leave? I know I would be still entitled to SMP if i do so 15w before baby is due. I am just confused how it works with the health insurance in Slovakia once the certificate S2 (which will cover me and baby until 15w after the birth)expires? Can I apply for residency and health cover while still getting SMP from UK? Any advice, thoughts are much appreciated. |
