Belgian Citizenship
Just curious if anyone knows if I can claim my Belgian citizenship through my Grandfather.
My dad was born in the UK but my Grandfather was Belgian. My father is doing some investigation. He's trying to find records of his Dad's birth certificate. We have his Belgian passport. Can it be passed down to me if my Dad manages to get his Belgian citizenship through his Dad? |
Re: Belgian Citizenship
I looked into this a few years ago for a friend. From memory you can no longer apply from outside Belgium so you would need to move to Belgium, albeit temporarily, in order to apply.

Let's see what my Dad digs up. Thanks |

Just stumbled on this if it helps...
Belgium - About nationality from the official diplomatie.belgium Pinch of salt as always, but the links seem to work. |

The original link (via another link) didn't quite end up in the right place, to my mind. And we can now ignore my 'pinch of salt' comment. ;) |
