BBC 1 and 2 , ITV , Ch4 etc : via satelite ?

Are any of these channels viewable via a satelite dish ( as opposed to the cable service , as we have in Belgium ) ;
if YES : what size dish , which decoder/s , prepaid cards , what directions...?
Thanx too much , in advance ,
R.

Thanxxxx for your trouble , jdr ;
however , when we enquire about BBC 1 , 2 and 4 on Sat in Belgium , we are told those are "not on" ; and my Nokia decoder picks up hundreds and hundreds of channels , Germany , Italy , north Africa , Arabia , China and what else have you ...but NOT BBC1 or 2 or Ch4 ;
could it just be the directioning of the ( quite a big ) dish , on my 5th floor roof ?
