British Expats - Anyone in Slovakia?

Hey there,

Me and my (Slovakian) wife have been preparing moving there for the last 5 years. We've bought, rebuilt and completely renovated a house and does not owe anything on a mortgage. We've spent 2 months living there and our utility bills came to something silly like £38 a month, food was dirt cheap and basically we've figured out if we watch ourselves, our current savings can reach a long long way. We're planning on making the big move around August next year, just before my 30th birthday. The house is in Kosice, east Slovakia.

Now, a question to anyone living out there. What it's like? When we lived there for the 8 weeks it was a charmed lifestyle of sleeping late, not having to watch money, going to town buy nice things for the house, etc etc. We didn't have to look for jobs, deal with doctors, banks, utility companies, local officials and so forth. I assume it's slightly different than over here.

Basically I'm just looking for anyone with some experience living here full time and perhaps if anyone also knows of expats in the eastern parts, it would be great.
