Anybody stay at Holiday Inn Place de la Republique in Paris?
Hi all! I'm new to this board, having just found it. I've been looking fruitlessly for a board like this until now!
I've been to Europe several times before, backpacking for 2 summers in 76' and 77' and 5 yrs. ago. Last trip, I was older, better off financially, so able to stay in hotels instead of campgrounds. Anyway, our coming trip in May will be with my in-laws and husband. I have booked Executive rooms at the Holiday Inn Place de la Republique in Paris. Has anyone stayed at this hotel who can give me the scoop, so to speak?
Thanks,
Stacy

Looks like a business-oriented, typically International, faceless sort of
hotel that can be found in any big City.

I would stay the same thing as JohnT. If you book now for the same
money you can find something much more special with the same quality.

I agree, but it's difficult to choose a hotel from the pics on the internet. It's amazing how every room is "spacious" on the website, but personal reviews call them small! That's why I 'd like to hear from someone who's actually been there.

Hi,
not a bad location... BIG hotel though... and I personally like smaller
more intimate places... though if english is important to you I'm SURE
it's not a problem here.
decent chain mussel place out the front door to the left.
also 2 decent/good gun/shooting sports places just down the street if
you're interested in this sort of thing... you can at least browse and
bring home a NICE pocketknife in your checked baggage.

Thanks for the input, Anonymous.
I, also, prefer smaller, more intimate places, but my in-laws prefer the larger, more conveniences hotels. I speak enough French to get by...at least enough to get me into trouble.
