advice wanted on moving to Mallorca
Hubbie and I have talked about moving to Mallorca for years, we have finally decided to make the move - however can't do it until next year at the earliest as we are expecting our first child in July. We begin Spanish classes on Monday (Conversational Spanish with a Spanish teacher, not school Spanish where you learn how to say the cat is under the table!!) and I am trying to research as much as I physically can before we put the house up for sale early next year. We want to be 100% prepared. Finding info is the hardest thing. My naivity stands at the moment that if I get a book on living and working in Spain, will the information in terms of the legal stuff be relevant in Mallorca??? I just want to know that the information I arm myself with is the right stuff. I don't want to be one of those English folk that move out there and not learn the language, and run a bar....we would prefer to integrate into the society as much as we can, especially as we plan to raise our child there (our child will be 9months old when we move so will practically be Spanish!). As I say any help/advice would be gratefully recieved. We also have friends out there who own a bar, so at least we have folk out there too, and won't be totally alone. We don't want to rely on them for jobs (that would be too easy). Thanks!!!!!!

I personally wouldn't bother with books. The Spanish change their laws so much that most things become obsolete or have changed beyond recognition by the time it goes to print.
My top advice would be to not sell up in the UK. Rent your place out for a while and rent somewhere there. If I had my time again that's what I would have done.
