Default Advice needed for moving to Switzerland

Hi,
I've recently been offered an Engineering job in Baden and am preparing to move from England to Switzerland. I am however unsure of where I should live. I'd appreciate any advice about where would be good to move. I think Zurich may be more suited to me however I'm aware it's expensive to live there. To give a little more information about myself, I'm a 24 year old Engineer from the UK. I enjoy sports as well as socialising and going out. My German is reasonable and I think I'll be good enough to get by until I get more proficient. Any advice would be much appreciated!

Thanks,
Laurence

Then again , the manner in which the Swiss usually make use of the German language is a.k.a. Schwytzerduutch ,
the more jolly ones among that lot calll it a " HalsKrankheit " ;
Zuerich , Basel , Geneve , Lausanne ....Grrrreat Place/s to live in , though ,
- even if for some ( v. v. ) good years of your life only !
I still recommend trying a Life in CH , ne'er U mind what all else went wrong recently :
...like the SwissFranc , UBS , Credit Suisse , Swiss-Re , Swatch , Moevenpick restos ( I'll stop right here , not to annoy too many virgin viewers ....)

ABB or Alstom?

Anyway, Baden's very nice and not overly expensive. Get a temporary room at Kantonspital (ask HR to fix this up) and look from there. Wettingen is very handy for living in and commuting the 5-10 minutes to work by bus or bike, but others choose to live out in the sticks. The social life in Baden is superb - you'll probably have more fun there than in Zurich, and organising trips etc is what going to work is for. There's a huge crowd of weekend skiers, MB'ers, etc, so no worries there.

You could even live in Zuri, but most people get to dislike the trip in the morning.

PM me if you want to know more...
