Vetassess practical question

Have just joined after reading Steve O's and others information about the vetassess practical test which was very useful, thanks. I just have a few specific questions re the practical test and what you are asked to do:
Is the DOL starter single phase, 3 phase or 3 phase and neutral?
Are the resistors actual electronic resistors placed in a circuit board?

Re: Vetassess practical question

Its not a DOL unit as such, just a 24v contactor, a set of overloads and a start/stop station laid out on a desk. All I had to do was wire between them all and hook up to a 24v power supply.
With the resistors I just had to show how to wire them in series and parallel. No such resistors, just a small peg board kind of thing with painted on resistors A, B and C. I was given fly leads to make the connections with.
