UK electrical apprentice
Hi, I am a 19 year old British electrical apprentice. I work full time in the UK as an electricians mate. I attend North West Training Council in Bootle Merseyside on day release every week, were I am doing my recognised electrical apprecticeship. The course is the Gity & Guilds 2330, which is a three year course and I am nearing the end of my second year.
I am considering coming to Australia, probably Queensland, and need to know where I can attend to complete my electrical training. I know it will be slightly diffrent but I do need to be able to gain my full electrical qualifications. SC |
Re: UK electrical apprentice
As far as I know you can't transfer to a course over there, you'd probably need to start again at TAFE if you don't have quals yet that you can get recognised with TRA/ARTC.

Re: UK electrical apprentice
Hello all,
They use the PL system here so your two years should be worth something, there are sometimes jobs going for 3rd year apprentices, however how do you plan to make the big leap, you have to have something to offer them, you didn't mention another skill or a partner with trade quals, best of luck with the future, from one old fart stick with your apprenticeship and complete it, you stand a far better chance then.
