Default Is it too late?

My husband an electrician and myself a hairdresser are thinking of making the move to oz! We have a young family of three girls and want a better family life for us all!.... We have friends in Brisbane who are so happy and we are thinking of giving it a go! Problem is I'm 33 and hubby is 43... Are we too old? Coz by the sounds of it a to be a spark in oz requires a lot of time and retraining?... Can anyone help?

Hi Catkins,

I don't think you're too old, but if it was an option, I would suggest that you get assessed as a hairdresser and apply for state sponsorship from WA. If you can do two years there, when you get to Australia your OH can apply for ARTC and then do shorter course to getting licensed and being able to work. Also with you as primary applicant, age points would be higher but not sure on experience etc. Have a look at the skill select site at options.

Good luck
