Taking tools from the UK?
Is it better to take your tools across to Australia or are tools easily obtainable over there?
This may seem like a silly question but as us sparks know, it takes a good while to build up our tools and I personally have a number of european tools like Knipex (German), Irazola (Spain) etc, which may be available in Oz but expensive due to the import?
Also is there any duty to be paid if you do take your tools across and do they needed to be specially cleaned?

ditto the pyro and swa tools = wont need em
cleaning them to food standards is a myth what they are after is to stop seeds & soil based bacteria etc that could reek havoc over here so unless your tools are muddy or youve just used then to mow the lawn the only advice would be to lightly spray with oil as 12 weeks in a container could see them rusty at the end
you can get cheap tools here but like home you get what you pay for and most of the cheap stuff comes stamped with made in china enough said
regards steve
the only duty would be if you where importing stuff less than 12 months old and even at that you`d have ato have a dozen or so of each to get the customs man intrested
