Default state sponsorship

i have a 176 state sponsored visa for victoria.i know there is a moral obligation to go and work in this state for a while.does anyone know if you can move to another state ie western australia. i already have my visa validated in victoria during a visit last year.is it a legal requirement to go to victoria.

Hi there,
It's not a legal obligation, only a moral one. I have heard, anecdotally, of people having their PR visa cancelled for not fulfilling the 2 year requirement, don't know how true it is but I would say your chances of getting "caught" if you did decide to go to WA would be very slim.

What's the point of state sponsorship if they don't enforce it? I wouldn't take the chance to be honest.

I know what you mean, having said that, having not been aware of quite how unreasaonable the Qld electrical licencing system is at the time of applying for my state sponsorship I will have no qualms about relocating to find work if needs be.
