Reference.

Hi.

To all you sparks in Oz. Do you need a reference from your last UK employer? I'm having problems with my current employer because he suspects i'm leaving. He very reluctantly signed my ARTC paperwork last week and is now making life hell for me.

I don't think there's much chance of getting a good reference because when i leave he'll be left in the S**t.

Does a reference matter?

Steve.

DId he give you a reference for your assessment? We used that one for employment references ;)

Or is there anyone else in the company (or someone who has left) that would give you one?

It's hard to say if they will expect a reference or not from your last employer - I guess it all boils down to the company you apply to? I know my OH used the reference his boss gave him for the TRA, but it was written by me purposly to look like an employment reference :D as well as one for the TRA.

I have just been for an interview and they wanted a verifiable reference, so even though I have some wriiten ones from my employers in the UK they wanted a phone number or e-mail. Do you know anyone that would do that for you instead?

Only one person can give me ref. I'll just have to wait and see what happens when i hand notice in.

Thanks for reply.

An ex-employer would do, or a friend ;)
