Default qld or nsw license - very confused.

With any luck we should have our visas in hand very soon.

We are still undecided if we are hearding towards queensland or NSW. I have an ARTC already but am reading conflicting posts with regards what my next step is to obtain a license. I know it maybe a different route depending upon which state we end up in but can anyone please please help ??

Hi there,
For QLD try www.qet.edu.au and click on the bit at the top of the page with the heading 'Electrical Mechanic Licence' and a sub heading will appear " Holder of an ARTC etc
For NSW try www.fairtrading.nsw.gov.au and scroll down to the bottom of the page where it shows 'Transitional arrangements', although it's not entirely clear what your supposed to do so it may be worthwhile emailing them for clarification.
Hope this helps
Regards Derren

Hi there,
Currently, the PEER route is a viable option towards obtaining a NSW licence but there are threads contained within this forum showing posts of people who have been declined a QLD licence after they have done the the PEER route and 1 post of someone who was declined a QLD licence after trying to transfer from WA.
At the moment there are a couple of posters on this forum who are or will be trying to obtain a QLD licence after attending PEER so it will be interesting to hear their feedback.
Regards Derren
